Fast Sets

Fast Sets terms of use

Last updated: 07-09-2026

This is deliberately short. Read all of it: it takes two minutes and there are things worth knowing before you trust us with your training history.

1. What Fast Sets is

Fast Sets is a website for logging strength training: you edit and see your history, calendar and stats from any browser. You can bring your history in from another app — for example from FitNotes, on Android — and take it back out whenever you like.

We have nothing to do with FitNotes or its makers. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by them; its name appears here only because it's one of the apps Fast Sets is compatible with.

2. Who runs it

Wenbo Zhou, one person, in their spare time, with no company behind it. You can write to [email protected].

3. Getting in

There is no open sign-up today: you get in with an invitation link, or by joining the waitlist. That invitation is yours and personal; don't pass it on. You choose your own username and password, and your password is your responsibility: whoever knows it can get into your account.

4. The important part: where this runs, and what we can't promise

Fast Sets runs on a small computer in a private home, on that home's internet connection. It is not a company service with staff on call:

So we ask you plainly: keep your own copy. Profile → Export gives you your full history in two formats, whenever you like, without asking. And if you came from FitNotes, keep your phone's backup file.

In legal terms: Fast Sets is provided "as is", with no warranties, and we are not liable for data loss, lost profits or indirect damages, as far as the law allows. What the law does not allow us to exclude, we do not exclude: if you're a consumer, your consumer rights are untouched.

5. Your data is yours

Your training is yours. We claim no ownership of it, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for anything other than showing it to you. You can take it with you and you can delete it yourself, at any time. How we handle it is in the privacy notice.

The software, the design and the name "Fast Sets" belong to the person who runs it.

6. This is not medical advice

Fast Sets records numbers: it doesn't know you, doesn't know training and doesn't know health. Records, estimated 1RM and statistics are automatic calculations from what you type, not recommendations. They are not a substitute for a doctor or a coach. Lifting weights can injure you; what you do in the gym is on you.

Estimated 1RM uses the Brzycki formula, the same one FitNotes uses, so the numbers match between the two apps. It is an estimate, not a measurement.

7. What you can't do

Nothing surprising: don't try to get into other people's accounts, don't attack or flood the server, don't hammer the app with automated tools, and don't put illegal content in your set comments. Anyone doing that gets their account closed.

There are technical limits so the server survives: a cap on sets per account (12,000 by default, raised on request), a maximum number of requests per minute, and a maximum upload size. If you hit one, the app tells you clearly and nothing you already had is lost.

8. Changes and closing your account

We may change these terms; if something important changes, we'll say so inside the app. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → "Delete my account", or by writing to [email protected] if you'd rather we did it for you. We would only close an account for the reasons in section 7, or if we shut the whole service down.

9. Governing law

If you're a consumer, the law of the country you live in still protects you in any case. Fast Sets is a personal project, with no registered address that would set a different one.
